- Squares
- By Ian Davison (16)
- Written in AMOS Professional and compiled with AMOS
- Professional
- compiler.
-
- Squares. A two player game.
-
- To install, just copy the disk to where you want it.
-
- How to play.
- After pressing PLAY to start, the two players take it in
- turns to place a peg of their colour onto the grid,
- attempting to make the four corners of a square or trying
- to block one of the other player's squares. When a
- square is completed the computer will draw the
- outline of it. Squares can be any size and at any angle,
- but must but must be square! The bigger the square is,
- the more points it is worth. Also a bonus point is
- awarded for every extra square created at once.
- The winner is the player with the most points when all the
- pegs are used.
- Control in the game is with the mouse, but the joystick
- can also be used to move the mouse pointer during the
- game if it is required.
- Pressing SPACE will put the players peg in a random
- place, this could be used as a (poor) computer player if no
- one will play against you.
-
- The game should work on any Amiga just by clicking on
- the icon or by typing Squares.exe in the shell.
- Tested on:
- A1200, Blizzard 1230, 6MB RAM, 1550MB Harddrive, IDE
- CD-ROM
- A500, 1 MB RAM, Extra disk drive.
-
- The game was inspired (copied) from a PC (spit) internet
- game.
- At the time I wanted inspiration for something to program
- so I didn't check if there is already an Amiga game like
- this. (Sorry if there is.)
- The game only took 2 days to program and another 2
- days to perfect (I hope).
